Basingstoke moved to its present location in 1928 and was officially opened on March 29th by the legendary six time Open champion, Harry Vardon and the famous course designer James Braid. The club is a regular host to a number of County amateur and professional events including all the major County Championships.
The course is set in 110 acres of Deer Park and features many mature native British trees. The 6289 yard, par 70, course is synonymous of a ‘Braid’ parkland design, with rolling, undulating tree lined fairways, excellent bunkering and subtly contoured greens. In the summer months, the greens are regarded as some of the finest in Hampshire.
